Samsung unveils lower-priced Galaxy S21 lineup
Jan 15, 2021
Samsung have announced a trio of powerful new 5G phones - Samsung Galaxy S21, S21 Plus and the S21 Ultra.
Unsurprisingly (considering the current global climate!), the company have reduced the price of each model compared to last year's S20 range.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 price starts at £769, while the Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus cost begins at £949, and the S21 Ultra starts at £1,149.
Lower prices mean lower specs
To reach those prices, the Samsung S21 and S21 Plus have flat 1080 x 2400 AMOLED displays (6.2-inch and 6.7-inch screens, respectively) instead of the 1440 x 3200 resolution found in the S20 phones, though both have refresh rates maxing out at 120Hz.
The S21 phones (including the Ultra) also come without a Micro SD slot, so you're unable to expand storage. This may push you to purchase extra storage in the first place or rely on Cloud storage instead.
The S21 range starts at 8GB of RAM, unlike the 12GB starting base of last year's models.
Samsung have confirmed that the release date of the S21 phones is Friday 29 January 2021. The S21 phones are, however, now available for pre-order.
