Hold Your Horses!: Apple delays AirPods release

Back in September, Apple promised the release of AirPods by the end of October. Fast forward to October, and ask yourself where your AirPods are? Not in your ears, that’s for sure.

Apple fanatics will have to wait a little longer for the AirPods rollout, as the company has asked for “a little more time”. Bless ’em.

Speaking to TechCrunch, an Apple spokesperson revealed: “The early response to AirPods has been incredible. We don’t believe in shipping a product before it’s ready, and we need a little more time before AirPods are ready for our customers.”

It’s unclear whether hardware or software updates have caused the delay, with the tech giants also keeping tight-lipped about a planned shipping date. So, it’s really anybody’s guess when the product will be available for purchase.

Pre-production testing of the AirPods – which also incorporate a bespoke wireless chip – has reported them to have “great battery life”, “impressive sound quality”, and easy pairing with your iPhone.
