Why Moving To The Cloud Will NOT Boost Productivity

Feb 9, 2017

Wait, stop right there. I can already see you preparing to throw rotten fruit at me, and our marketing team are probably shaking their heads right now as this practically goes against everything we're trying to sell tell you on here. But before you do, just hear me out.

Now, don't get me wrong, being in the Cloud is absolutely ace. It really is. And I can give you a ton of reasons why... (no, really, I can...)

In fact, there should be no doubt in your mind that placing your business in the Cloud is the answer - now more than ever. But it's not the full answer.

Sure, the Cloud can bring teams together and keep work flowing wherever and whenever you want, but simply being in the Cloud does not guarantee results.

It's how you understand and manage your Cloud-based tools that makes a difference. I can't stress enough how important it is to get the best out of your work tools - whether that's your VoIP phone system, Microsoft Office 365 or your real-time driver tracking reports, it all falls under the same principle. All of these tools are simple to get your head around and implement in the office, but allowing yourself to become familiar with them takes time and effort.

For instance, if your goal is to improve the level of customer service (via phone) in your business, it's critical that you understand the dynamic call reporting data your system offers. Just having a record of all the phone calls you receive is worthless if you're unsure on what to do with it and how to use the collected data to improve customer care, and ultimately increase sales.

Similarly, bringing your workforce together using collaboration tools - such as video conferencing through Skype for Business - is all well and good, but if it's not being used in the right way to generate new ideas, you may need to reassess how you're using the tools.

I wish I could promise you that the Cloud acts as a magic wand and will solve all your problems, but the truth is - you only get out as much as you put in.

And this is where we come in. If you get to grips with Cloud-based tools in the right way, you're most definitely on the road to success... and we can help.
